Configuring Magic Links for Password-Free Login

Overview Magic links offer a passwordless login option, making accessing your Schedly account easier and more secure. When using magic links, users receive a special link via email that logs them in directly, circumventing the need for a traditional password. This feature is particularly beneficial for businesses and individuals seeking streamlined and secure user authentication without the hassle of remembering passwords. Prerequisites To enable and effectively use magic links, you must have an active Schedly account. Ensure that the email address associated with your account is correct and accessible, as magic links are sent via email to that address. Step-by-Step Instructions Enabling Magic Links for Your Account 1. Navigate to the main Schedly login page. 2. Enter your email address in the "Email address" field. 3. Click on "Sign in with magic link." - Upon clicking, a magic link will be sent to your email address. Make sure to check both your main inbox and spam/junk folders if you do not see the email immediately. 4. Open your email inbox and locate the magic link email from Schedly. 5. Click the magic link to be automatically logged into your account securely and password-free. Sending and Managing Magic Link Emails - To initiate a magic link, users must request the link via the login page. Each request sends a unique, one-time link to the registered email. - It’s important to educate users on identifying legitimate Schedly magic link emails to prevent phishing attempts. - Magic links are valid for a limited time, typically 15 minutes from the time of request, to enhance security. Troubleshooting Common Issues with Magic Links - Not Receiving Magic Link Email: - Check your spam/junk folder. Ensure your email address is entered correctly. - Verify with your email provider that Schedly emails are not being blocked. - Retry sending a new magic link by clicking "Sign in with magic link" again. - Link Expired Before Use: - Magic links are time-sensitive. If expired, return to the login page and request a new link. - Magic Link Not Working: - Ensure not to use an outdated browser or one that blocks pop-ups, as these might affect link functionality. Key Details & Limits - Magic links expire 15 minutes after dispatch for security reasons. - Ensure your email is correctly associated with your Schedly account. - Only one active magic link can be generated per email at a time. Frequently Asked Questions 1. What if I accidentally delete the magic link email? - Simply return to the login page and request a new magic link. 2. Can I disable magic link login for my account? - Magic links are optional. Simply choose another login method like SAML/OIDC or email/password next time. 3. Are magic links secure? - Yes, magic links are secure as they are time-limited and link specifically to your user account, eliminating the need to broadcast or store passwords. 4. How many times can I request a magic link? - You can request a magic link whenever you need to log in, but each request voids the previous link. 5. Can magic links work with SAML/OIDC? - Magic links are independent of SSO protocols like SAML/OIDC and provide a separate login method. Troubleshooting - Magic Link Taking Too Long to Arrive: - Validate the email speed with your provider, or check your network connection. Retry requesting another link. - Receiving Multiple Link Emails: - Ensure not to simultaneously request multiple links; each new request invalidates the previous link. Sharing Your Booking Link: Direct URLs and QR Codes

Overview Every event type you create in Schedly comes with a public booking link that people use to schedule time with you. These links live under Schedly Services alongside your Event Types, and they're the core of how customers move from "I want to book" to a confirmed appointment. Whether you're a solo host on the Basic Plan or running a 50-person team on the Pro Plan, sharing the right link β€” the right way β€” is what turns visibility into bookings. Prerequisites Before you share a booking link, make sure you have: - An active Schedly account (Basic Plan at $10/month or higher). Event Types and Service Booking are included starting on the Basic Plan. - At least one Event Type created under Schedly Services. Without a saved event type, there's no link to share. - The event type set to the correct visibility. If you want it publicly bookable, make sure the Hidden checkbox is not selected when you create or edit it. - Host permissions. Admins and Members can create and manage event types; Guests have view-only access. Step-by-Step Instructions Locate your public booking link 1. Click Schedly Services in the main navigation menu. 2. Click Event Types. 3. Find the event type you want to share in the list. 4. Each visible event type has its own public booking link tied to its slug. Copy the link for the specific event type you want people to use. Because each event type has its own link, you can share a "15-minute intro" link in one channel and a "60-minute consultation" link in another. Customize your booking page slug or URL Your booking link ends in a slug that reflects the event name you set. To adjust it: 1. Go to Schedly Services and click Event Types. 2. Click the event type you want to edit. 3. Update the event name in the provided field β€” this shapes how the link reads. 4. Adjust the description, duration (between 15 and 120 minutes), and seats if needed so the booking page shows accurate information. 5. Click the Save button to apply your changes. A clean, descriptive event name makes your link easier to read and more trustworthy when shared publicly. Share via email 1. Copy the booking link for your chosen event type from the Event Types page. 2. Paste it directly into an email signature, a reply, or a campaign. 3. Recipients click the link and land on the booking page, where they select an available time and confirm. Tip: Put your most-used event type link in your email signature so every message becomes a booking opportunity. Share on social media 1. Copy the public booking link for the event type. 2. Paste it into a social post, bio, or direct message. 3. For platforms that allow only one link (like a profile bio), use the link for your most popular event type. Share via QR code A QR code is ideal for printed materials, storefront signage, business cards, and slide decks. 1. Copy your event type's public booking link. 2. Generate a QR code that points to that exact URL. 3. Place the QR code where people can scan it β€” a flyer, receipt, or event banner. 4. When scanned, the code opens the booking page on the visitor's phone, ready to book. Always test the QR code with your own phone before printing in bulk. Test your link before sharing 1. Open the booking link in a private/incognito browser window so you see it exactly as a visitor would (logged out). 2. Confirm the event name, description, and duration display correctly. 3. Verify that available time slots appear. 4. Walk through a test booking. If the event type has Requires confirmation checked, confirm the pending-approval flow behaves as expected. Key Details & Limits - Plan availability: Event Types and Service Booking are included from the Basic Plan ($10/month, up to 10 team members). The Pro Plan ($25/month, up to 50 team members) adds team management and Insights. Enterprise offers custom pricing with unlimited members. - Event duration: Bookable events range from 15 minutes to 120 minutes. - Seats: You can specify the number of seats (participants) allowed per event type. - Confirmation: With Requires confirmation enabled, bookings need host approval before they're finalized. - Visibility: The Hidden checkbox controls whether an event type is invisible to the public. - Insights: Booking activity from shared links appears in Insights, which updates in real-time and exports to CSV and PDF. Public, secret, and private links β€” what's the difference? - Public link: The standard booking link for any event type where the Hidden checkbox is not selected. It's discoverable and meant to be shared widely across email, social, and QR codes. - Secret/hidden link: When you check the Hidden option, the event type becomes invisible to the public β€” it won't show up in your general listing. You can still share its direct link with specific people, making it effectively a secret link. - Private access: Roles govern who can manage links. Admins have full access to create and modify event types; Members can participate and book; Guests have limited, view-only access. Frequently Asked Questions Can I hide an event type but still let certain people book it? Yes. Check the Hidden box when creating or editing the event type. It won't appear publicly, but anyone with its direct link can still book it. How do I change the name that appears in my booking link? Go to Schedly Services > Event Types, click the event type, update the event name field, and click Save. Where can I see how many bookings my link generated? Click Insights in the main navigation menu. Data updates in real-time, and you can filter by event and export to CSV or PDF. Can I have different links for different services? Yes. Each event type has its own public booking link, so you can share separate links for a 15-minute intro, a 60-minute consultation, and more. Do bookings need my approval before they're confirmed? Only if you checked Requires confirmation when creating the event type. Otherwise, bookings are confirmed instantly. Can guests share booking links? Guests have limited, view-only access. Creating and managing shareable event types requires Admin or Member permissions. Troubleshooting My link shows no available slots. The most common causes are: the event type has no open availability configured, all seats are filled, or the duration/schedule leaves no bookable windows. Open the link in an incognito window to confirm, then edit the event type under Event Types and verify your duration (15–120 minutes) and seats settings. My link opens a page that says the event doesn't exist. The event type may be set to Hidden, or the slug changed after you edited the event name. Re-copy the current link from Event Types, and uncheck Hidden if you intended it to be public. My QR code won't scan or leads to the wrong page. Regenerate the QR code from the exact, current booking URL and test it on your own phone before distributing. A slug change from renaming the event type will break older codes. Bookings aren't showing up. Confirm whether Requires confirmation is enabled β€” those bookings sit as pending until you approve them. Check Insights for real-time booking activity.
